Trainspotting with AFFKT

Hailing from the Spanish mainland, Marc Martinez Nadal, aka AFFKT, creates vivid and empowering sounds that range from the most energetic hyper-glossy techno to innovative indie-electronica. His work has graced key imprints such as Pets recordings, Multinotes, Mobilee, Last Night On Earth or Stil Vor Talent and his very own Sincopat label, and expressing versatility digging deep into his influences of sounds by delivering heart-stopping, engaging techno on the likes of Octopus, Noir Music, Suara… He’s released 2 brilliant albums to date, ‘Son of a Thousand Sounds’ and ‘The Big Picture’. As he releases a trilogy of EP’s – ‘Footloose’ (Sincopat), ‘Milhomens’ (Multinotes) and ending 2023 on a high with ‘18.04’ (Pets Recordings) this month, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with AFFKT.

gizA djs – The Snake Charmer – Sincopat

This song belongs to Sincopat’s latest release. The first time was a couple of years ago and it was love at first sight, even though we had to wait until we could release it, it was definitely worth it. Its breakdown is an infinite crescendo that culminates in a perfect drop, definitely a magical track.

AFFKT – Rebost – Multinotes

Rebost is one of the energetic and special songs of my career, and it has just been released on Multinotes, a label I highly respect simplicity and perfection of shapes are the words that come to my mind when I think on it.

Breach – Jack (Jonathan Kaspar Extended Remix) – Defected

This is one of the best remixes I’ve discover lately, I actually love everything Jonathan Kaspar is doing but this dark and raw work is without a doubt something special.

The Organism – Ego (Doctor Dru Remix) – Organic tunes

Another winning remix, it is a clear example that simplicity sounding good usually gives good results, it is a track that is played well exactly because of the harmony and richness of the sound.

Kiko & Panthera – Burnout2 – Correspondant

This track is definitely an anthem, its piano chords full of intensity captivate you from the first listen and although repetitive, they totally surprise you with their unexpected harmonic changes. Undoubtedly a point and a part in your session.

PÔNGO – John Connor – Systematic

‘John Connor’ has a subtle but hypnotic melody, its breakdown makes you lose sense of time and space. It reminds me of progressive music from years ago but with a much more modern sound.

Fejka – Shades Of You (AFFKT remix) – Ki Records

Remixing for Fejká has been a big challenge, his music is so high quality and inspires me so much that I wanted to be up to it. I wanted to make a remix that was above styles and genres, with a groove between break and Techno, my idea was to hook the listener from the beginning to the end, a roller coaster of emotions that I hope will make you get lost inside your mind.

Shishi – I Start to Lose Control (Fango Remix) – Good Skills

Fango is one of my favourite artists, his bass lines are incredible. In this remix I really like the intro and his unexpected drop, and his organic sound that could sound like a band of musicians from another world.

AFFKT – Valent – Sincopat

‘Valent’ condenses a lot of me into one song, I had a very special feeling when I was making it and I think you feel when you listen to it. I think that his huge bass line, which at times becomes the main lead, is what most defines this intense and energetic song.

Dusky – Wildfire – Running Back

I think this track is the perfect ending for this chart, I play it many times to end my sessions because it leaves a very special taste in your mouth. A very dynamic track that makes you fly at times to put your feet back on the ground the next moment. Another timeless song that will not leave you cold.
