AndThen’s musical story spans several decades and genres and he has won support from big cats on the scene, including Jamie Jones, Paco Osana and Blondish, among others. His sound is an emphatic fusion of House and Techno with Tribal undertones and an emphasis on percussive-laden grooves. In recent months, his productions have graced labels such Cubism, Adesso and Circus Recordings, gaining several high charting releases on Beatport and Traxsource and support from BBC Introducing. AndThen Ft Jess Kidd – After Dark – Traded Music
This is a techy groover with an squidgy synth melody. When I sent it to Jess to add vocals, I didn’t expect how spot on it would be. I am also really chuffed this is on Traded Music as well as it’s been great to see what Lawrence and Patrick have done with the label, and now parties over the past 2 years. Really cool to be part of it. This track is getting some nice support from BBC, Oliver Knight, Archie B and Huxley to name a few.
Retna / Nic Fanciulli – This Is Life – Saved
I am massive fan of Nic Fancuilli and have been since the early days, most of the tracks that come from his Saved label go straight into my bag. This one is of their best in recent years, It has a great main synth part and a groovy drummy bassline.
AndThen – Watch What – Cubism
This is the title track from my Ep out now on Cubism. This is heavily influenced by Groove Armada but with a modern techy twist. This has gone down really well on the dancefloors and getting some great support.
Ango Tamarin – Antelope (Original Mix) – Circus Recordings
Ango Tamarin is a someone who has belted onto the scene with releases om Trick, Circus, Saved, Knee Deep in Sound, so he’s not mucking about. He doesn’t show his face on socials, so I have been trying to work out who he is! Either way an amazing artist.
Bizen Lopez – Ghetto Biz (Original Mix) – Sibil-la Music
This is proper party banger with a well known vocal stab. I have been playing this for about a month and it works really well every time.
Duke Dumont, Kid Enigma – Let Me Dance (Jansons Remix) – Club Blasé / EMI
Everything Jasons touches at the moment turns to gold. He has had some of the biggest tracks on Circus Recordings in the last 2 years and this remix with the acid sound is top notch
AndThen – Calling – Adesso
This is my first release on Junior Jack’s Adesso label. This is doing the promo rounds now and getting some nice support. It’s such a buzz to play your own music in a set and see the crowd react to it. Nothing beats that feeling. This track has a spooky vocal and a driving bassline.
Jess Kidd / Terri-Ann – Nothing We Can Do – Glasgow Underground
Obviously I am a fan of Jess as we have worked together a few times, but this is a belter she’s made with Terri-Anne on well-known imprint Glasgow Underground.
Kyle Walker – All You Need – Another Rhythm
I love the low driving drums and the old schools pads in this. It’s got a proper summer vibe to this track.
Catz ‘n Dogz – Nasty (feat. Kiddy Smile) – Club Swet
This is a great groover from Catz ‘n Dogz, the vocal is brilliant and as you can tell, I like my drummy tracks, so this fits the bill for me!
