Trainspotting With Marcus Santoro

Marcus Santoro is one of Australia’s most celebrated DJs and producers. He has clocked up over 100 million streams and shared stages with superstars, including David Guetta and Martin Garrix. Back in the summer, he teamed up with Swiss-born, NYC-based Lohrasp Kanasara and Johannesburg-based Mavhungu for ‘Haunted’, and the single continues to resonate with cultural richness. As the lush remix package of ‘Haunted’, including a remix from Chaleee, lands on WTR / MDLBEAST Records, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Marcus Santoro.

Rampa, &ME, Adam Port feat. Chuala – Say What – Keinemusik

I’ve been waiting for this one to drop for quite a while and it definitely hits all the right spots. Everything about it is super cool and radiates positive vibes and not to mention the catchy vocal which gets stuck in your head from the first listen. An incredibly simple yet effective production executed perfectly and it goes to show why these guys are the most in demand artists right now.

Kinder, C-Mart, David Mackay – Far From Home – Sound International

I fell in love with this song from the moment I first heard it. You can really feel the connection that it brings especially with the magical piano riff and the vocals from C-Mart paying homage to family and love. Both Kinder and David Mackay are doing brilliant things with their careers right now and this song is a great way to showcase that.

RÜFÜS DU SOL – Pressure – Rose Avenue

I love the soundscapes and the mood that this song brings to the table. It’s has that classic signature RÜFÜS DU SOL vibe but with something new and exciting. The entire album ‘Inhale Exhale’ is definitely a testament to artists breaking boundaries and turning the wheel and makes me a proud Aussie!

Jazzy, KILIMANJARO – No Bad Vibes – Chaos

This one has certainly been a standout in my recent sets and I love playing it out. I think the reason why it resonates with me a lot is because it reminds me of my own music and production style. Overall, no badvibes from this (see what I did there?) the pre-chorus pulls you right in and layered with those chords it works a treat!

London Grammar – You And I – Ministry Of Sound

Something different here, but what else can I say? I absolutely adore London Grammar. Their latest album ‘The Greatest Love’ is such a joy to listen to but this song in particular literally sends me to another universe. Emotions run rampant on this one and as it builds towards that incredible climatic string section together with Hannah Reid’s phenomenal vocals, it feels as though you are quite literally transported to heaven.

Justice, Tame Impala – Neverender (Rampa Remix) – Genesis

Ok, back to the dance floor now. Another record from Rampa that I was eagerly awaiting this year. Easily one of my favourite remixes that has been released in 2024. I heard this throughout my time in Europe during the summer and these vibes are just the perfect way to get the party started. Rampa proves here that he is an absolute professor at his craft. I think the production is quite unique and allows for it to hold its own compared to the original.

Monocule & Marcus Santoro – Fine Day – Protocol

Every artist aspires to work alongside their peers and I’m glad to have done so with ‘Fine Day’ being my second collaboration together with Nicky Romero under his Monocle alias. Not only that, but it is a cover of one of the songs that sparked my love for dance music growing up so to be able to use this sample from Opus III as my own single was a nice full circle moment. It’s a great blend of progressive and melodic techno that ignites the dance floor every time I play it out.

Gordo, Drake – Healing – Ultra

The ‘DIAMANTE’ album from Gordo is certainly one of my favourite bodies of work this year, and this song perfectly sums it up. It’s a deeply meaningful and haunting number and I love the arpeggiated piano that plays throughout. The production is fantastic and the vocals powerful with their words. Late night drives listening to this hit different…

Sebastian Ingrosso – Flood – Superhuman

The swedes can do no wrong, period. Sebastian Ingrosso will forever be a pioneer to me and has in many ways, changed my life. This is his first solo single in almost 10 years and I am just in awe at how magical it is. The breakdown sends shivers down my spine as it is filled with such emotion.

Marcus Santoro & Lohrasp Kansara feat. Mavhungu – Haunted – WTR/RESOUND

The song that has given new life to my career as an artist. This is an incredibly special song to me as it allowed me to break the mould, create and envision direction after a time where I was feeling super lost. Working together with Lohrasp created a solid friendship that is rather hard to find in this business, and in my opinion, Mavhungu is one of the most underrated talents there is.
