One’s To Watch
Bjorn Berglund

What’s The Best Night Out You’ve ever Had?
I think the very first rave I went to was the best night out ever. I was probably 15 and felt really special. It was a kind of “finding your way home” feeling about it.   Sweden in the 90`s was really something else with all the energy…

What’s Your Favorite Club?
It’s definitely the club “2.35:1” at Berns in Stockholm. The club Promoter and MD “Martin Kling” is really passionate about the venue and is building something special from the heart, he gave me the opportunity and honor to be a part of the club.

What’s Your Favorite Record of All-time?
There’s a lot of records that are really great in there own right but “Autechre`s” “Eutow” still hits my soul every time I hear it.

What Record Can’t You Stand?
Can’t remember records that I hate but probably some Nazi record would mess up any day.

What’ was the best club night you have ever put on?
My release launch party was a great night for me. Jesper Dahlbäck and Tony Senghore DJ’ed with me and Krister Linder and delivered some great backing vocals. The place was packed out and a lot of friends came down to support and enjoy themselves, the atmosphere was electric.

Your biggest DJ Moment?
Every time I DJ at 2.35:1 is the greatest night. The response you get is instant and the place is just perfect. If you come to Stockholm drop by and ill show you around!

Your biggest DJ disaster?
One of my first DJ gigs was at a bar and I was in direct view of a Parking lot. Pretty quickly into the gig my eyes catch a crack whore in action and giving a guy a blow-job in between the cars right in front of me. The darkness and image of it made me sick for the rest of the night and messed up the vibe.

What Record Did You Lose Your Virginity Too?
Didn’t listen to any music I think or I was to busy trying to figure out what was going on to pay any attention to the music.

What Was The Last Record You Bought?’
Daniel Savio – Dirty Bomb / Great record by Stockholm’s finest.

Name Three Of Your Biggest Influences…
Thomas Newman for finding the essence of every track. Trentemöller for kicking my ass in so many ways with his album “the last resort”. John Dahlbäck for being there and helping me in a lot of ways.

Who Would Play You In ‘Bjorn Berglund’ in The Movie’
James Caviezel would play me in the movie about my life.  Mostly because i think he looks cool.

What’s Your Dream?
To be able to continue my work with things I’m passionate about, to be in love, be happy, in good health.

How Do You Escape?
Music makes me escape definitely. You can move worlds with 3 chords and when those chords are perfect I escape from the planet instantly without any control.

What Is Your Favorite Possession?
My Roland Juno-106 synthesizer.  We will never part.

What Record Never Leaves Your Box?
Hugg & Pepp – Naken Janne EP.  This record is lethal to any dance floor.

What Is Your Life Philosophy?
“It’s only the weak that need to stand on others to look strong”

What’s In Your Pockets?
My constant ringing phone, thousand keys and a wallet.

You Are Having A Party, Whom Dead or Alive Is On the Guest List?
Sun Ra, Marlyn Monroe… pretty much anyone that is up for some crazy sh*t and not afraid to go nuts.

When Was The Last Time You Embarrassed Yourself?
I do it all the time because I never remember anybody’s name. Its one of those things that people really can be offended by and makes me look like an idiot. I hate it!

Tell Us Something That We Don’t Know about Bjorn Berglund?
When I was 12 years old I sailed half the world with my family in a 37 foot boat.

Finish the sentence: “I’ll never forget this one time at a one of our parties….”
The cops arrived and thought I was “under the influence” took me to custody and let me sit there for 6 hours until my urine test came back and they saw that it was clean. Told me that I shouldn’t go to raves and let me go at 7 a clock in the morning. Don’t you just love the police!!!
