Ralph Lawson and buddies have come up with an outstanding piece of work here, a disc of studio recordings and a live set from Sonar for your meagre outlay. The studio disc funks something rotten with chunky cuts like ‘Grey Clouds’ and ‘Can’t Stop The Crew’ containing killer hooks. The vocal tracks are excellent too, none more so than Diane Charlemagne’s contribution to ‘High’, although members of the band The Glass run her close in ‘Won’t Bother Me’. Meanwhile the live disc features Lawson’s impressive mixing and 2020 anthems ‘Hey Jack’ and ‘Switch’, showing the music can more than cut it in a live environment. Strongly recommended listening.
