Rotterdam’s Alden Tyrell has taken the Italo-disco style, hotwired its genitals and pumped it full of an energy which emphasises the elements which’ll destroy dance-floors. In other words, the first principles of disco, never forgetting that big fun was the primary aim. Tracks like ‘Disco Lunar Module’ and ‘La Voix’ – which features the vocals of Nancy Fortune – use Moroder-esque sequences, while the jittery electro cover of Bobby O’s ‘Knockers’ recalls the great Patrick Cowley, as do many of the tracks. Alden also revisits his first biggie, ‘Love Explosion, with old school Italo icon Fred Ventura. This would sound so good in a porn film! In fact, this whole album would sound good anywhere.
