The influential trio return with a long-awaited album packed with vocal collaborations, all adapted to their own highly individual production style and loping beat. Of the guests, Bilal impresses with an effortlessly floated vocal on ‘Sweet Sour You’, while Erykah Badu and Georgia Anne Muldrow make ‘Fly Away’ a seductive number. The ensemble piece ‘Glorious’ is a heavily layered triumph, while the urgency of Talib Kweli lifts ‘Feel The Bass’. Sa-Ra’s spaced-out, jazzy take on music remains out on a limb – and on this album, has the power to take you higher.
