Andrea has taken a brief break from frying the robot’s cod-piece with sonic salami and repeatedly breaking the electro-barrier to show what she did before she loomed on Mo’ Wax and then went on to establish one of the UK’s most cutting edge labels. Most was produced with long-time studio partner David Morley, dating back to their wonderful Two Sandwiches Short Of A Lunchbox project for Apollo/R&S and ‘Angular Art’ EP for the much-missed Infonet. The sound is still deep, haunting and often unsettling, it’s just the beats aren’t so mad under these bottomless space symphonies. There are tracks from Andrea’s 2000 mini-album The Dark Ages for Belgium’s Quatermass, the unreleased ‘Time Zones’ from 1991, more Infonets… All I can say is it’s great to have Miss Parker’s formative tackle all under one roof and fascinating to watch her evolve.
