This is the debut album from Bergen’s own pop princess, and if there’s any justice it will sell by the bucketload. Annie’s breathy vocals are the perfect match for electronic beats conjured up by Richard X and Annie’s late partner Tore Kroknes, with whom she wrote ‘Greatest Hit’. This and the other two singles are superb, especially ‘Heartbeat’, but the album tracks are also excellent, the life affirming ‘Me Plus One’ and the sighing ‘Always Too Late’ two of the treats in store. Perfect for home or club, ‘Anniemal’ is pop in its purest form.
