‘Nu-jazz fusion’ where the improv and rehearsed set-pieces become one, ‘Lluvia’ trundles along sweetly, respecting the customs of candlelit keys, brass, flutes and Red Snapper basses, jockeying between tempos as the sound of the most exclusive restaurant in town. A three-track burst midway elevates Aquarius from the also-rans and reveals a hidden wild side. Genius pours all their luxury into ‘Kirtana‘ with a half-hoover, drum & bass bottom end, ‘Monte’ carries the momentum over into 4/4 Latino piano loco, and ‘Industry’ is the real curveball, swirling Asian-scented fascination seemingly delivered from Ninja Tune.
