Aquasky - Raise The Devil

Aquasky – ‘Raise The Devil’ – (Passenger)

Aquasky - Raise The DevilHaving stepped back from the breaks scene for a little while under their Black Noise guise, the break beat police will be overjoyed nay utterly rapturous to welcome Aquasky back. Hailed by themselves as an LP they wanted to be ‘a kind of reflective album that covered our careers’ it certainly does. There’s breaks dubstep, drumstep, booty, Nu Jungle and warehouse all delivered with a heavy nod back to the days of rave but with an eye firmly on forward trends. Collaborations with Pyramid, a mountain of quality vocalists including Diane Charlemagne (Goldie ‘Inner City Life / High Contrast ‘If We Ever’), Tennor Fly and Ragga Twins takes this album to the next level. I won’t list the tracks that stand out as there are simply too many bad boy bass line, musical, moments to list. Destined to be in many a bass warriors DJ’s box, this album is a behemoth of gargantuan massiveness. Long lives the rave indeed!
