Breaks with punk attitude, techno aggression, acidic hustle & bustle and, possibly, verbalising itself into chart music’s noisiest patron. The uncompromising openers ‘Seven 10 Split’ and ‘Head’ straight away patrol the deep end, keeping the complexities of their production in check with ‘Spitball’ flobbing the funk and ‘Who Stole Monkey’s Clothes?’ and the ‘Rez’-ish ‘Just One More’, with Pac Man power-up breakdowns, certified to cause festival tent carnage. Not without its irritations (Sweet Hustler’s unremarkable contributions; Maz looting Lisa Stansfield for ‘Superstar Junkie’; the odd shoegazer), there’s plenty here to make a song & dance about.
