Sixth in the series helmed by Mr Dub Funk Association, Kelvin R, it ably lives up to the subtitle “variations on a dub theme”, managing to encapsulate the dub ethos in African, Brazilian, jazz and funk music as much as the traditional reggae vibes. 14 tracks – including Dr Echo, Unitone, Richie Phoe, Mc Pullish (the excellent “Dub From Creation”), etc – that cover drifting melodica to bass to echoing vocals and back again, proving that dub isn’t just a modern London thing.
