Arnaud Rebotini takes a big step on from Black Strobe with this, a finely blended album of techno-based cuts that does what its cover implies, and lets the keyboards do the talking. The sounds are largely analogue, and all the better for it – punchy bass drums and solid lower end lines dressing tracks like ‘Un Cheval D’Orgueil’ with a healthy amount of groove. As Rebotini continues there’s evidence of a sense of humour to go with his aptitude for structure, good riffing and very danceable rhythms, making that ideal thing – a techno record with bags of personality.
