Now residing on Black Hole, BT’s ‘Emotional Technology’ album of 2003 gets a re-release, with a tempting bonus CD of remixes from the likes of Tiesto, Dylan Rhymes and Sander Kleinenberg. BT’s characteristic blend of driving beats, glassy vocals and huge, earth moving bass-lines served him well on this record, as did a penchant for the big chorus that sorted the men from the boys on ‘Knowledge Of Self’ and ‘Force Of Gravity’. With regular collaborator Jan Johnson illuminating ‘Communicate’ and a harder, darker direction explored in the rap-dominated ‘Kimosabe’, a new, unreleased track, this is a powerful record fully deserving its second time round.
