Chaim
Alive
BPitch Control

‘I make emotional music: it’s a reflection of my life’. That’s the crux of the debut album from Chaim Avital, and it helps him fit in seamlessly with BPitch Control’s sound and philosophy. A lot of his work stems from the meeting point of house and techno, and it’s pretty deep stuff, with solid drum beats and lush synth sounds. ‘Everything’ is an especially deep number, while ‘Don’t Shout’ carries a powerful impact, countered by the more intraverted ‘Who Said What’. With some nice references to early house and techno mixing with his own thoughts, this is an album with an appealing, organic warmth. An artist to watch for sure.
