2006 has already been one hell of a year for CR2 records, with great underground records crossing over into the mainstream, take previous releases on CR2 like The Egg – ‘Walking Away’ and Fedde Le Grande – ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ as prime examples. Danny Freakazoid is the next contender and only 19 years old, this young swiss prodigy has already been making waves with his previous two releases for CR2, ‘The Freax EP’ & ‘Teken’. CR2 are now ready to unleash Danny’s debut album, and unlike many other albums, this is aimed squarely at the dancefloor! All 11 tracks on the album are DJ friendly club tracks, full of the flair and vision that has seen Danny rise through the ranks. Highlights from the album include the fore mentioned single as well as the deep and haunting electronic grooves of ‘All Right’, followed by the quirky Mylo-esque electro houser ‘Hidden Love’. The outstanding ‘You Are The Leading Man’ takes the techier route with devastating effect, reminiscent of Trentemoller at his most evil best! ‘Fuck The Moog’ goes down a more minimal path, whilst ‘Recordable’ rounds off the album with some style, with a huge riff reminiscent of Gypsy Women’s classic ‘Crystal Waters’.
