The name sounds like a dodgy 70s comedy duo but the music spurting from their raging creative loin-cloth is merciless, pounding techno of the sort hoisted aloft in the 90s but recently ushered more underground in favour of the subtler minimal strains. Creator Martin J. Radcliffe’s manifesto is admirable: ‘Not being able to settle for anything short of audio mayhem has driven me to this album. The chase of the hardest, filthiest sounds I could make whilst retaining intelligence is finally over.’ So there is some stout, men o’ techno-style declaration but, for our purposes, the rampant tackle on display is no-holds-barred, heavy duty and executed with the precision of a razor to a gnat’s udders. Brutal, cataclysmic and dark, it’s a great statement in the face of blandness and sonic bollock loss.
