This is a compilation that sums up the work of Wes Pentz, aka Diplo to date, and shows exactly why he has become such a producer in demand. By including a few cuts from debut album ‘Florida’, Big Dada show where it all began – but bring his sound right up to date in remixes of MIA’s ‘Paper Planes’. Original tracks written with Kano and Bonde Do Role showcase the Diplo sound, highly danceable break beats with a bass drum that’s pretty much through the floor, while remixes of Peter, Bjorn & John and CSS are a bit more delicate. Clearly he’s a man with a vivid imagination and a real talent for beat making – witness him at work on Daft Punk’s ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’ for evidence of that – so it looks like Diplo will be receiving rather more decent work, for rather more decent pay.
