Dirty Vegas
Electric Love
OM

Something of a welcome surprise, this – a return to long playing form for Dirty Vegas. It’s seven years since their last effort, One, explored a soft pop direction that failed to inspire, but ‘Electric Love’ finds them revisiting their roots, exploring what made people dance in the first place. The album is a succession of euphoric, White Island type rushes, with tracks like ‘Little White Doves’, ‘Pressure’ and ‘Changes’ brimming with chunky keyboard riffs, pumped up house beats and, crucially, much better songwriting. There is the odd instance of filler towards the end, but it seems the move to OM has revitalised them – and on this kind of form, it’s good to have them back.
