The clever title has it about right, as this collection of diskJokke remixes, a follow up to the fine ‘Staying In’ album, is a good blend of music for the head and the feet. Where diskJokke is really strong is in his slightly monotoned build-ups that create tension over several minutes, and this tactic works well in remixes of Foals’ ‘Olympic Airways’ and Bloc Party’s ‘Sunday’. Elsewhere he shows himself to be similarly adept at mastering the slower disco beat normally associated with Lindstrom and Prins Thomas, his reworkings of Harrys Gym, Lykke Li and The National Bank all heady rushes of sound over loping grooves. The closing Lindstrom remake ‘Breakfast In Heaven’ has it all spot on, all warm and fuzzy. The proof lies in these nine remixes that diskJokke is a versatile artist, and his second album should be well worth hanging on for.
