Dominik Eulberg
Diorama
Traum

Dominik Eulberg’s fourth album sees him spread his wings, with a lot more brushed electronica added to the techno that has been more typical of his style up to now. ‘Diorama’ works extremely well as a single piece of work, moving between coolly judged ambience and stronger, more robust beats, with ‘Das Neunauge’ in particular flexing its muscles. The influence of ’80s electronica surfaces on ‘Islandmuschel 400’, vaguely reminiscent of Depeche Mode’s ‘Behind The Wheel’ in its make-up, while the closing ‘Metamorphose’ shows off Eulberg’s versatility in its graceful piano lines. Those who have followed Eulberg’s movements up until now should dive in immediately – but at the same time, ‘Diorama’ could win him a whole new set of friends with its open and rewarding approach.
