The Errors are a Scottish band, making instrumental music that crosses over from acoustic to electro. They blend up-tempo, disco-influenced stuff with slower, more thoughtful pieces. The single ‘A Rumour In Africa’ is an obvious stand-out, but the atmospheric ‘The Erskine Bridge’ casts a spell with its woozy ambience. Perhaps the best track here though is ‘Jolomo’, its wobbly synth at the top complemented by a piece of booty shaking funk at the other. Throughout there are twisted guitar lines, keyboards with a bit of edge – and always beats with an energetic, organic feel. It’s clear the band have been listening to James Murphy’s productions, but that’s no bad thing as they stamp their own individual personalities on the music – for our own enjoyment.
