‘Funk 4 Peace’ is the Fort Knox Five motto, and when it’s applied to the music of others a suitable chaos ensues. The Washington trio offer up brilliant party stuff, continuously mixed into one long funky jam. The brassy mix of Nickodemus’ ‘Give The Drummer Some’ does just that, while Chris Joss’ ‘Wrong Alley Street’ gets a good scratching. Best here is the humourous vocal track ‘Ain’t It Funky’ from A.Skillz & Krafty Kuts, but Joe Bataan’s ‘The Fool’ runs it close with the master’s booming voice. A funky treat – play it loud!
