Future Sound Of London
From The Archives Vol 4
Jumpin’ & Pumpin’

While the Future Sound of London’s greatest achievement remains the superb ‘Lifeforms’ album of 1994, the continued plundering of the archives is revealing some hidden gems. This fourth such exercise stays true to their first principles of inventive sounds and cross rhythms but throws up a couple of surprises too, in the direct ambient house of ‘Plasmatik’ or the blissful guitar reverie ‘Mango Tree’, which could almost be pinched from a soft rock riff. An essential addition to fans’ collections – with something of a concept laid out in the booklet notes to bring it all together.
