Four years after their first album together, Explode, Antye Greie [aka AGF] hooks up again with Sasu Ripatti [Vladislav Delay, Luomo] for another intimate exchange. Since the first album, Antye has gained the experience of releasing two solo albums on her AGF label and produced Ellen Allien so she comes into this with a wealth of experiences to inject while Sasu released his fourth album as Luomo, wrote with the Scissor Sisters and played in the Moritz Von Oswald Trio. Here they once again take off on a future-pop tip, ranging from romantic electronic ballads like ‘Connection’ to the boxy, creaking funk backdrop of ‘Bulletproof’. But even outings like ‘Generic’ and ‘Congo Hearts’ are cloaked in a claustrophobic atmosphere laced with static tentacles, ‘Most Beautyfull’ getting heaving and quite evil. In contrast, ‘In Cycles’ swings like a jazz standard with upfront vocal. Well worth a inhalation.
