Kirk Degiorgio is a prolific writer, and barely six months have passed since his last As One venture. Where that album dabbled in vocal tracks for the first time, Elegant Systems returns to the intricate constructions of his instrumental output, every part lovingly put in place. It’s a kind of electric soul music that he achieves, and is a cleansing musical experience. It may not differ hugely from his past output, but remains inventive and organic enough to keep the listener on board.
