Best known as the singer and songwriter for Opus III who grabbed the nation’s attention in the ‘90s with their top five single ‘Fine Day’, the talented singer/songwriter behind that group now steps into the solo spotlight on what is essential a Greatest Hit album in everything but name.
Having worked with pioneering dance acts including Swayzak and Orbital, her ‘sound’ could best be described as a combination of acoustic folk traditions with electronic beats of trip-hop and techno rhythms. ‘Fine Day’ actually makes a welcome reappearance in James Holden’s ethereal reworking, while ‘Just Be Me’ (produced by Jimmy Gomez of Freemasons and Phats & Small fame) and ‘Reach For Me’, the forthcoming single, neatly reflect the album’s overall warm, organic sound.
