Paris-based Arnaud Malherbe aka LaNoiraude follows his ‘Paris Beatdown’ EP with his first artist album, managing to straddle an array of electronic fields with cinematic results in common. He’s joined by several guests, including Gong’s Didier Malherbe [aha!] to create a panporamic voyage taking in space disco, house, jazz-funk, electro-boogie and, on ‘Mechanical Traction’, some kind of alien robotic squelch-up which has been suitably thrust forth as the single. Some of it’s personal, like the alien funk of ‘Hit By Cops’, whose strings ensure that this enjoyable album ends like a movie.
