Hamburg’s Peter M. Kersten- who also records minimal techno for Dial as Sten – uncorks a third volume of deliriously gorgeous deep house. The first single, ‘Swap’, is a good example of where he’s coming from – all lush pads, restrained musical florishes and intertwining keyboard melodies. The album is quiet, understated but intoxicating with gems like ‘The Lawn’ recalling the classic Nu Groove/early Strictly sound as practiced by such pioneers as Logic and the Burrell Brothers. The atmosphere on mood tracks like ‘Happy Sometimes’ is melancholy and reflective while ‘Cab Driver’ is darkly night-stalking and cinematic. Intricately delivered stuff but you can honestly say this is one that bears repeated home listenings to uncover the wealth of gems within.
