It seems Lindstrom was sitting on some of this material for a while, waiting for a suitable collaborator to come along – and now it’s happened. Vocalist Christabelle fits much of this music hand in glove, with a lot of the songs sounding like long lost gems from the 1980s as they enjoy some brilliant hooks. There is a real warmth here as well, either in the soft synthesizers, the subtly funky basslines or the reassuringly full bodied beats. What this shows above everything is that Lindstrom can write in shorter, poppy form as well as the long structures he used to such good effect in ‘Where I Go You Go Too’ – and with Christabelle, he’s most definitely on to a winner.
