Ah, Eskimo. That means barriers demolished along with melon and probably strides. This is a proper album from the mystery producers who recently uncorked the ‘Love Love Love Parts 1 & 2’, a belter of a sonic gumbo encompassing a massive gamut of found sounds and unlikely elements underpinned by elements of boogie and space disco. For instance, ‘Born On The Low Wind’ features a singing goat jamming with Hendrix in mellow mood! ‘Things Are Gonna Get Easier’ plants a Kate Bush-ish vocal over a lovely floater while ‘East Mountain Low’ takes the dub route on a carpet held aloft by drug-crazed squirrels boasting about their flatulent capabilities. ‘People Come In Slowly’ veers between speedy house and the disco but a lot is blink and you miss it and by the time the source is grasped a new delight is unfurling. The master-stroke of a bowel-evacuating shock is a beautiful cover of ‘At Last I Am Free’, Chic’s most heart-stopping ballad. They love Chic ballads! Don’t care who it is, they must be loved back!
