The clue is in the title, as house music’s favourite maverick bursts back with an album of high energy 80s influenced tracks. Opener ‘Go Crazy’ sounds like ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ on speed, at least until Majida’s catchy vocal takes it away, while ‘Playing House’ is a superb modern attempt at crafting a rave classic. Meanwhile ‘I Want Your Soul’ updates ‘Do You Want It Right Now’ for a funkier electro dancefloor. True to form, Van Helden plays around with his samples and vocals irreverently, but secures an energetic album that’s spoiling for a party.
