Marek Bois is Niklas Worgt, aka Dapayk, who released last year’s acclaimed Black Beauty album with Padberg. This is the minimal sound taken to austere extremes of sparse and dark pulserama, littered with clangs, electronic flatulence and bleeps. Tracks like ‘Memeneto Moments’ are wilfully discordant while ‘tlaa’ takes repetition to extreme. ‘Kimpton’ might seem like a grumpy stutter on the surface but will work a treat threaded through rattling belters like ‘Architecture’ – and this is possible because the album also, highly commendably, comes as double vinyl or two twelves. And ‘Snareway To Hell’ is track title of the year.
