The mighty Irish label never fails to deliver something special but this one holds a place close to the heart of its highly-talented creator as it was written and produced in the three weeks after he found out he was going to be a dad. Not much darkness here then, more a buoyant, vibrantly spring in tracks like ‘Steam’ and the strings which pop up in several tracks alongside a timless, ethereal quality. A strong element of techno’s 90s golden age is evident alongside the contemporary production techniques, and under everything the original Detroit spirit of questing vitality. A fantastically rounded album and all that remains to be said is best wishes for the birth!
