Not dance as such, but there’s a few tracks on here where you can strut your stuff in a guilty pleasure kind of way. For the Brooklyn duo MGMT make music of variety and substance, moving from the anthemic single ‘Time To Pretend’, and its synth riff that stays in your head for ages, to the strutting pop of Electric Feel. On the way the startling ‘Youth’ offers evidence that the band have something of a dark side too. Flaming Lips fans will love this, but so will Scissor Sisters – and there’s a few tracks here crying out for remixers such as Jacques Lu Cont or Soulwax. An invigorating pop album.
