The mighty fine Tsuba kicks off a new offshoot which, to their massive credit, will celebrate the poor, abused vinyl format, releasing its 12s encased in shrink-wrapped artwork chosen by the producers. The maiden voyage is helmed by esteemed label boss Kevin Griffiths who honours the volatile footie legend with an eerie slice of hallucinogenic deep house action wrapped in eerie atmospherics over an insidiuous, loping canter. The remix comes courtesy of Sascha Dive, another vinyl devotee whose Derrick Carter-homaging Chicago Blue Cucaracha Dub adds bongos and vocal line to intoxicating effect. If you support one record this week support this worthy cause and help show the world that digital just ain’t dance music.
