The Moogwai album has been a long time coming, but rather like a certain beer, its ‘never rushed’ approach has held it in good stead. The chromatic ‘Viola’ is present here, its fifth anniversary marked by a remix from Tek^Tonik. This record isn’t a one track pony though, for despite being only seven tracks long it displays immaculate structure and careful attention to detail. It’s not always trance either, with hints at electronic house, and ‘The Nord Song’ hints at a more sensitive side. Surprisingly chilled listening at home, but guaranteed to do damage in a club also.
