Morcheeba
Dive Deep
Echo

It seems a shame to admit it, but Morcheeba have always come across as a diluted version of Massive Attack and Portishead – pleasant chill-out music without any edges. And so it is on their fourth studio album, which sees them return to sunnier climbs following an ill-advised flirtation with softer rock. This time there’s a bit of a country, open American road feel that suits them – and the guest vocalists, Thomas Dybdahl and Judie Tzuke, acquit themselves well. Nothing too challenging here, but that wouldn’t be in the spirit of the band – and fans will be glad to hear they’re still in the game.
