An album apparently inspired by moving to Ibiza, Thought So… sees little reason to deviate from the previously successful Nightmares blueprint of slow grooves mixing dub, a bit of reggae, soul and hip hop. Not that we want to shoehorn them into a generic corner, particularly, as they’re pretty relaxed in their approach throughout, and the closing ‘Hey Ego’ hints at the new Balearic surroundings in its piano line. ‘Calling’ is especially good, with cool synths giving way to soft steel pan and guitar, showing George Evelyn retains an ear for new sounds. Meanwhile the stomach shifting basslines and beats remain, giving the music substance in its lower end, where the Nightmares sound is strongest.
