NORKEN
OUR MEMORIES OF WINTER
COMBINATION

Whereas Lee Norris’ Metamatics moniker set out to entrance you into a restless coma on ‘3 Jak and Dive’, his Norken alias is to the contrary, upping the tempo but entering and causing a dream-like state from cavernous snow-topped surroundings. Icicled keyboards produce skimming glacial house (‘Memories’, ‘It Might Have Been Rain’), with placidly frozen and hollow-filling warmer beats occupying the margins of deep house (‘Eastern Soul’, ‘Folio’), and broken beat (‘Ty Canol’, ‘Audic Stable’) releasing frosted synths exhaling cold mountain top air camouflaged as a yawning glow. A true goosebump-giver, in every sense.
