‘Helt Borte’ is the work of Rune Lindbaek and Cato Farstad, and having been completed in 2008 is only just seeing the light of day. ‘Light’ is an appropriate word to use in this case, since the album was written in a concentrated two week period under dark days and northern lights, elements that are strongly related through the music. There are no beats here, rather a shifting set of textures and fragments that betrays the influence of Brian Eno and Biosphere in particular, without ever sounding like a derivative piece of work. Cool tones and frosty glints take hold of ‘Hamningberg’, while the descriptive ‘Snowflakes’ and ‘My Frozen Spirit’ are timeless treats too. Best heard when not in a rush, where the music has time to take hold of the listener.
