Ostensibly a beguiling exercise in that rapidly-developing musical form called dubstep, Pulshar also evoke various musical strains in the course of its journey into deep space, including off-the-wall hiphop and classic Detroit but also older forms like the blues. The band was formed by electronic composer Pablo Bolivar and vocalist Aphro Sainz, previously heard in reggae outfits Better Collie and Loud and Lone. Their much-incubated debut holds on to the essential soul which intertwines great emotional music, constantly seeking to weave them into new shapes. People love talking about the new dub styles but this is, in essence, the original manifesto of psychedelia taken into the future by new technology.
