Qluster – Echtzeit – (Bureau B)

A sixth album for the Qluster project, made up of Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Onnen Bock and Armin Metz, in which they return to an electronic approach. As with their previous album ‘Lauschen’ Qluster opt for a relatively quiet and relaxed approach, music that moves slowly but has enough going on with atmospherics and new lines drifting in and out that the listener will not be short changed. Add to that the warm, consonant harmonies that make themselves known through Bock’s keyboard and there is an essentially human element to the music making. ‘Beste Freunde’ is a lovely example of this, with some really nice piano work, while ‘Glasperienspiel’ twinkles in the half light. An ambient album that subtly burns its way into your consciousness, and stays there for some time.
