The work of Frank Heinrich is tailor made for Cadenza, bringing in his passion for world and jazz music in such a way that it enhances the original. Listening on headphones provides the whole story at street level, as it were, with layers of percussive brilliance and snippets of vocals, chords and atmospherics giving the music a set of subtle layers. Below ground is the bass, often working at such a low level that it can be barely heard on normal speakers, making its true presence felt when the woofers are brought in to play. ‘We Only Just’ is the prime example of this, while the real thrills come with the power play of the disco-fuelled ‘Hermana’, and the exquisite touches that make ‘Down Pantha’ so atmospheric. The more you listen to this record the more it reveals, all fuelled by deep rooted percussion.
