In which Miami-based Alain Hernandez is incredibly fortunate to have Andrea Parker rummage through his vaults and make available tracks which date back as far as ten years. Alain learned his craft and cut his DJ teeth with Dopamine names like DJ Brotherhood and Alpha 606, whose major outlet has been Touchin’ Bass. It comes as little surprise then to find Nomadic’s electronic foragings straying beyond the dark side into electronic soundscapes which sometimes have more in common with the avant garde or horror movie soundtracks. Radioactive creepers strangle the testicles of young goats beneath sinister helicopter pulses, crunched-up b-boy grooves and alien twitterings. Mutant moles throw up on ‘K1 Part 2’ as easily as ethereal jazz pianos waft in on ‘Locked Doors’. It’s a fascinating peak in the ancient y-fronts drawer unveiling a fevered creative brain.
