Space disco, you could call it – but whatever term you end up with, this is a pair of discs that give off an effortless cool. Both are unmixed, but that doesn’t harm the continuity. So whether you’re listening to the extended Prins Thomas mix of Sorcerer’s ‘Surfing At Midnight’, which chugs along with an unreasonable amount of funk, or the more urgent and uplifting ‘Start Something’ of Morten Sorenson, Tirk make you fall under their spell. Other highlights are the Hercules & Love Affair remix of Chaz Jankel’s ‘Get Yourself Together’, which gets the Diesel treatment on CD2, plus excellent disco fare from Arcade Lover, Pete Herbert and Ecce via Justus Kohncke. Cosmic stuff, that’s for sure.
