SKEEWIFF
PRIVATE FUNKTION
JALAPENO

Elliot Ireland & Alex Rizzo are Skeewiff, making the most of funky breaks & shooting them through with a love of the swinging 60’s, resulting in mod basement floor fillers & stompers, along with a few songs thrown in for good measure. ‘Private Funktion’ opens with ‘Smash & Grab’, which is a tad more Martini than Double Diamond, complete with a Carry On growling suggestively pussycat. The delightful ‘Love Power’ is up next, featuring the bubblegum soul vocals of Charlise Rockwood, whoâs sweet tones will bring waves of feel good Motown to mind, & is the title track on their forthcoming EP. ‘Triumph Stag’ has got a typical Spencer Davis Group rhythm going on, with Alan Hawkshaw of Mohawks ‘Champ’ fame, riding Hammond freestyle over the top, & ‘Man Of Constant Sorrow’ is a Hillbilly Hoe Down on a funky groove, which turns out to be a right olâ barnstormer. All in all Skeewiff’s ‘Private Funktion’ is well groomed, clean cut & stylish good times. The TV advertisers are gonna love it, & so are the swanky bars, along with the pilled up weekenders.
