Teri Walker doesn’t yet seem to have got the recognition she deserves for what is after all an outstanding soul voice. Here she’s pretty much irresistible, with a silky-smooth delivery that retains a pleasing roughness just around the edges, rather like the production. This is at times reminiscent of Erykah Badu in songs like the title track, but with the direct approach of the piano in ‘Alright With Me’ she stamps her own individuality on things. ‘Addicted’ will steam up a few car windows, and shows she can carry off a sexy line with little to no effort. Definitely one to watch.
