Brooklyn based The Essex Green have delivered a mighty fine collection of sixties tinged pop songs for their third album ‘Cannibal Sea’ All three principle songwriters Christopher Ziter, Sasha Bell & Jeff Baron share vocal duties across ‘Cannibal Sea’, inviting a few talented friends to collaborate along the way. The opening ‘This Isn’t Farmlife’ comes over like a country gal fronting a British beat combo, & will have you hooked right from the off. ‘Don’t Know Why (You Stay)’ has got a certain Eddie & The Hot Rods guitar riff running around cute harmonised bubblegum pop, & ‘Penni & Jack’ is your classic American duet. And that’s only the first three cuts folks, I reckon The Essex Green are gonna gain a lot of new fans with ‘Cannibal Sea’ this summer.
